Using less data on a slow connection
Turn on low-bandwidth mode on a phone or computer so the Online Record Book loads less and sends less.
Low-bandwidth mode is a setting of the device you are using. It is not part of your account, so it stays on this device and does not follow you to another.
What it changes
- Photos and images load when you tap them.
- Voice notes and videos never load until you press play.
- Photos and recordings are made smaller before they are sent.
- Pages you opened before open from your device first, and are refreshed in the background.
Choosing
Open Settings, then This device, and choose one of three:
- Automatic turns the mode on when your browser asks to save data or the connection is slow. This is the default.
- On always uses the mode.
- Off never uses it.
Choose Save. The page tells you whether the mode is on right now.
